Newsletter October 2026

To market. to market....

Having a market stall is my favourite way of selling. It’s a great way of meeting new, old or potential customers and you can build a rapport that isn’t possible online. So I’ve decided to do more of them!
You will now find me and my work at Tavistock Pannier Market every Wednesday. The market won the prize for Britain’s best indoor market last year, so I’m very excited. More details below.

Latest Art

I have been out and about sketching on Dartmoor, resulting in these new watercolours. I'm hoping they may generate some interest at the nearby Tavistock market.

I have a new Christmas Card this year... it's blank inside for your own message, so not restricted to just Christmas use! It's reproduced from my original watercolour "Snow on the Hoe".

Chris Stone Artist

I am a Plymouth based artist. I love to create original paintings of the places and landscapes i love, mostly in Devon and Cornwall, but also beyond. I'm particularly interested in the faded beauty of everyday things that surround us and that many of us take for granted.

Chris Stone Artist Newsletter September 2026 Phew! That was a hot one! Summer was never my favourite season, even less so after the ruthless one we've just had! Paint was literally drying on the brush and markets in hot spaces were a bit of an ordeal. Having said that, I had a great time selling to and meeting customers at markets, fairs and exhibitions and I've had fun producing a few paintings. As we look to autumn, I'm looking forward to upgrading my website, hopefully before the main run...
